WAYACHAMP Perth 2019

WAYACHAMP's 4-day program provides a unique opportunity for young students to experience the thrill of chamber music. Students participate in two small ensembles, a variety of workshops, chamber orchestra and a Final Concert.

*NEW! WAYACHAMP 2019 will be run in two streams:

WAYACHAMP Masters - Students of violin, viola or cello who are grades 2 - 6

WAYACHAMP Elite - Students of the violin, viola, cello or piano who are grade 6+*

For both streams the minimum age is 10 and maximum age is 17.

(*To enrol in the Elite program it is recommended that students have studied grade 6 material for at least 6 months)

Both pre-formed groups and individuals are accepted.

Both programs will run concurrently on the following schedule:

Monday 30th September 9:30am - 3:30pm

Tuesday 1st October 9:30am - 3:30pm

Wednesday 2nd October 9:30am - 3:30pm

Thursday 3rd October 9:30am - 3:30pm

Thursday 3rd October 4:00pm WAYACHAMP Masters Final Concert

Thursday 3rd October 7:00pm WAYACHAMP Elite Final Concert

Venue: UWA Conservatorium of Music

Cost: $275 per student

No audition is necessary however registered participants will receive a set of excerpts which are to be recorded. This assists with placing students in ensembles.

*** Australian Strings Association (AUSTA) WA Offer ***

AUSTA student members are eligible for a $50 tuition reimbursement upon completion of the WAYACHAMP 2019 program. In order to receive the tuition reimbursement, applicants must:

1. Become a member of AUSTA (student or full membership) BEFORE applying to WAYACHAMP (student rate is $59/year). Apply at https://www.austa.asn.au/membership-levels/

2. Apply and pay full tuition fee to WAYACHAMP ($275)

3. Upon completion of WAYACHAMP 2019, apply directly to AUSTA WA for reimbursement of $50.

This means you can enjoy all the benefits of AUSTA for a whole year for only $9!
