
STRIKE A CHORD
Four Strings Introduction video, created for their entry into the 2021 competition where they became the only WA ensemble to progress to the finals.
What is it?
Strike a Chord is Australia’s national chamber music competition for high school students and is facilitated by Musica Viva Australia. Chamber music ensembles of between three and eight players in any vocal or instrumental combination performing music that is ‘classical’ in style may enter. Twelve aspiring groups will be selected by the Jury and invited to perform at the Grand Final on Saturday 27 August 2022, competing for cash and professional development prizes.

Strike A Chord Finalists & Novice Section Winners Announced: 22 June, 2022
The Grand Final will take place on Saturday 27th August at Melbourne Recital Centre where the selected finalists will perform to the in-house audience and audience members at home across the nation via livestream. The 2022 winners will be announced live on stage by the Jury.

Suggested timeline (exact dates are arranged as convenient)
Week of 2 May: Tutorial 1 (1 hour)
Week of 9 May: Tutorial 2 (1 hour)
Week of 16 May: Tutorial 3 (1 hour)
Week of 23 May: Tutorial 4 and Final recordings (2 hours)
Submission due: 2 June

Cost
The suggested 5 hour package as above is $540 total.
This means that for trios, each member pays $180.
For quartets, each member pays $135.
