Autumn Academy 2024

WAYACHAMP's 4-day program provides a unique opportunity for young students to experience the thrill of chamber music. Students participate in two small ensembles, a variety of workshops, chamber orchestra and a Final Concert. 

Open to students aged 10 - 17

Violin, viola or cello students who have been playing at least 2 years

Piano students equal to at least Grade 6 AMEB (or equivalent)

Both pre-formed groups and individuals are accepted.

No audition is necessary however registered participants will be required to submit a video of themselves playing one or two set excerpts and a chosen piece. This assists with placing students in ensembles. Students will be placed in one of two streams according to their level:

• Masters stream - students up to approximately grade 6 level
• Elite stream - students approximately grade 6+ (numbers are limited for this stream)

Tuesday 2nd April 9:30am - 4:00pm

Wednesday 3rd April 9:30am - 4:00pm

Thursday 4th April 9:30am - 4:00pm

Friday 5th April 9:30am - 4:00pm; Masters concert 5:00pm / Elite concert 7:00pm

Half-day participation details:

Ages 13+ 9:30am - 12:00pm

Ages 9 - 12 12:45pm - 4:00pm

Enrolment fees

Trio package: $430 per student / $405 early bird (registration + WAYACHAMP t-shirt + WAYACHAMP tote bag)

Duo package: $420 per student / $395 early bird (registration + WAYACHAMP t-shirt) 

Basic package: $395 per student / $370 early bird (registration) 

Half-day participation: $200 per student

Late admission: $420 per student

Scholarships and bursaries closing date: 9 February 2024

Audition excerpts released: 12 February

Early Bird closing date: 16 February

All other registrations must close 26 February

Audition videos due: 26 February
